Jeffrey Giller, Managing Principal & Chief Investment Officer

Jeffrey Giller

Mr. Giller is a Managing Principal of Liquid Realty Partners.  He has worked as an institutional real estate professional for over twenty years, and has led real estate transactions totaling in excess of $4 billion.  His experience includes the acquisition, asset management, structuring, financing, pricing, due diligence and closing of transactions both in the United States and internationally with an emphasis on the United Kingdom and Western Europe.  Mr. Giller has led and closed transactions to acquire individual properties, large portfolios and real estate related companies in the private equity, distressed commercial mortgage and commercial mortgage backed securities markets.

Prior to joining Liquid Realty Partners, Mr. Giller was a partner of Somera Capital Management, where his responsibilities included forming, capitalizing and managing Somera Realty Value Fund (“SRVF”), Somera's first commingled value-added real estate private equity fund.  In addition to his role in forming SRVF and serving as its Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Giller shared responsibility for the direction of Somera's acquisition, asset management, finance and accounting functions

From 1993 until 2000, Mr. Giller was with JER Partners, a leading international real estate opportunity fund manager that has acquired and managed over $8 billion in assets.  Following his US roles with the company focusing on distressed debt portfolio acquisitions and new business development, Mr. Giller was instrumental in developing JER’s international activities, and in 1995 established the company’s first international office in Paris, France.  From 1995 through 1999, Mr. Giller was Director of Acquisitions and Operations, Europe for JER, and Managing Director of JER France, SA, JER’s European affiliate headquartered in Paris.  In these positions, Mr. Giller’s responsibilities included overseeing JER’s European acquisition, asset management, and finance and accounting teams, and establishing and managing strategic relationships with the firm’s investment and operating partners. 

Mr. Giller earned his Masters in Business Administration degree from the Darden School at the University of Virginia, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley.  He is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association and the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate, a member of the Advisory Board of the IREI Dealmaker's Summit, and a founding organizer and non-executive director of American Riviera Bank.
